JULIA TARISSAN

Born in 1995 in a small village in the Pyrenees, Julia Tarissan lives and works in Paris. After studying at the National School of Fine Arts in Cergy and training at Le Fresnoy - National Studio of Contemporary Arts, she developed a self-taught practice of filmmaking that involves mixing different mediums.
Her work comes to life through a visually rich aesthetic, narrating the adventures of naive characters and addressing themes of everyday life with absurdity and inevitability. Her storytelling universe focuses on the development of stories that blend fantasy and comedy, where complex characters come to life in colorful settings.

As a highly active director, she has created a music video for Feu! Chatterton featuring Sophie Calle, as well as "Sandra Loves Guns," an animated series for older children that has received awards, including at the MINT Festival. She has also won the CNC pre-production grant multiple times for music videos (Timothée Joly, Cate Hortl, Miel de Montagne, etc.).
