Mathieu Rathery is a French director, screenwriter, and videographer. After studying sociology and anthropology, he joined the Mauvais Sang collective in 2019 and co-founded PREMIER CRI.
Mathieu has directed three short films: "La Septième Heure" (2017), "T3CHL0VE" (2020), and "Effondrement" (2021), which have been selected and screened at festivals in France and internationally. His films explore the margins of society and the people who inhabit them. He also engages in more intimate research work, capturing short sequences on DV camera, akin to a video memory journal.
Currently, Mathieu is writing the next feature film for Larry Clark and developing a genre film centered around activism and political ecology.
